The initiative began with fans contributing in increments of $17, a nod to Allen’s jersey number, and exceeded $1 million by the end of 2020.
The “117 Holes for Charity” golf marathon has become an annual event since its inception in 2021, taking place at Crag Burn Golf Club near Buffalo. The gathering features Allen participating in an intense day of golf, often playing up to 6.5 rounds to raise funds for the charity.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Allen discussed how his approach to training and preparation for the upcoming NFL season has transformed since embracing fatherhood. While he enthusiastically remarked about the joys of being a new dad, he admitted that sleepless nights have become the new norm. “You learn about the unpredictability of what sleep is,” he noted, indicating that his rest schedule has inevitably shifted since the arrival of Harper.
The Buffalo Bills are preparing to kick off their preseason at the team’s new $2 billion Highmark Stadium on August 15 against the Carolina Panthers.
