Kraus, now 28 years into her career, imparted how she was unaware that her previous patient had become a mother herself until she was told about Culberson’s special circumstances during the delivery. “I actually ran back over to her room and asked, ‘Culberson, were you delivered here?’” she recalled, filled with joy at the reunion.

Kraus expressed satisfaction in knowing how well Culberson has adapted to life and is now beginning her own family. “People don’t realise how much these patients touch us,” she added. “We always want to know how they’re doing and what their life is like. To know that she was starting her family was the best thing ever.”
