French basketball sensation, Dom Malonga, recently shared her excitement about making her debut at the WNBA All-Star Game, an event that has become a prestigious gathering celebrating the talents of women’s basketball. The event took place on Thursday, July 23, in Chicago, where the 20-year-old star of the Seattle Storm showcased her unique fashion sense on the orange carpet, along with other prominent players like Paige Bueckers and A’ja Wilson.

Malonga, who was selected as the second overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, collaborated with her best friend and stylist, Amina Traore, to curate her eye-catching outfit. She wore a striking green-and-black ensemble, starting with a bold green blazer that she exclaimed to PEOPLE was the focal point of her look. “Amina showed me the jacket, and I literally fell in love with it,” Malonga recounted, emphasising that the rest of her attire was intentionally kept black to ensure the jacket stood out.
Describing her personal style as a blend of elevated streetwear and feminine touches, Malonga explained, “I love mixing structured, effortless pieces with softer elements.” This approach was evident as she paired her vibrant blazer with tailored black trousers and loafers, effectively balancing boldness with sophistication.
Receiving the news of her selection as an All-Star reserve was an emotional moment for Malonga, who expressed her gratitude and happiness upon hearing the announcement. “I was really happy,” she said, recalling how she immediately contacted her parents to share the news. “It was unbelievable for me. I went into that season without any specific goals, and just for that to happen so fast was amazing.”
As she prepared for the event, Malonga also reflected on her experience with the makeup artist, Shalonda Peguero, who helped create a soft glam look for the occasion. Sharing her beauty preferences, Malonga stated, “My go-to is always soft glam. A little blush and a glossy lip are my non-negotiables.” This understated yet effective makeup choice complemented her ensemble perfectly, accentuating her features without overshadowing her striking outfit.

In preparation for her game on Saturday, July 25, Malonga conveyed her anticipation of not only playing in the All-Star match but also sharing the moment with her siblings, who were travelling from France to support her. “They’re flying to Chicago for me, which means a lot,” she said. Although her parents were unable to attend, she hopes they will visit her in Seattle soon.
