Jodie Sweetin Says She Wants to Leave L.A. ‘At Some Point’ — Here’s What’s Holding Her Back

Actress Jodie Sweetin, best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner in the beloved television series “Full House,” has expressed her intention to relocate from Los Angeles once her two daughters complete their education. In a recent interview, the 44-year-old star shared her thoughts on family, motherhood, and her future plans away from the spotlight of Hollywood.

Speaking on “The Dory Jackson Interview,” Sweetin revealed that she and her husband, Mescal Wasilewski, who she married in July 2022, are eager to leave the hustle and bustle of life in Los Angeles. “At some point my husband and I would like to move out of L.A,” she said, noting that this transition would take place after her daughters, Zoie, 18, and Beatrix, 15, finish high school.

While Sweetin is keen on establishing a new full-time residence elsewhere, she intends to maintain a property in Los Angeles for her children. “I’d still want a place here so they can fight over, you know, who gets to stay in mom’s condo or something,” she elaborated, indicating her desire to keep a connection to the city where she began her career nearly 40 years ago.

Sweetin also discussed her perspective on parenting, expressing her enjoyment in witnessing her daughters grow into their own individuals. “I’m not one of those parents who’s been really afraid of their kids growing up. If anything, I have enjoyed watching who they have become, because it’s been all them,” she said, praising her daughters for carving their own paths. She believes she has provided them with the necessary guidance to help them discover their identities.

Her eldest daughter, Zoie, has taken steps towards her future, opting for community college rather than pursuing a traditional four-year university route. Sweetin shared that Zoie had the opportunity to play soccer at the community college level and could receive a scholarship, which has excited the family. “I’m so proud of her because this was absolutely, I think, the right next step for her,” Sweetin commented, emphasising her daughter’s decision-making process.

In contrast to the overwhelming pressures that can accompany adolescence, Sweetin noted the importance of allowing her daughters time to figure out their aspirations without undue pressure. “She’s like putting the pieces together, you know, so she can’t put the dishes in the dishwasher, but she’s putting the pieces of her life together. So I’ll take the small wins where I can get them,” she amusingly noted about her daughter’s progress in life.
