Digital creators Sean Sotaridona, also known as SeanDoesMagic, and Kayla-Rose Gibson have officially tied the knot in a stunning ceremony held in Bali. The couple, who have been together for four years, marked their special day on July 14, 2023, surrounded by 150 friends and family members who travelled from various parts of the world.

The wedding festivities stretched over three days and encompassed a welcome dinner, the ceremony itself, and a lively reception, complete with a pool party. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple expressed their joy, stating, “We have never dreamed to have a wedding this spectacular or beautiful as it is, and we are so happy to have our ‘fairy-tale ending’ to our love story.”
Their wedding theme, “timeless modern elegance,” was reflected in the colour scheme, which included ivories, white champagne, natural oak, and soft greens, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. The couple envisaged their nuptials as a merging of their diverse backgrounds, with guests arriving from countries including Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the United States, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Sotaridona shared that Bali was chosen as the ideal destination for uniting their families, expressing, “Bali felt like the perfect place for our families and friends to come together.” While the locale was undoubtedly picturesque, planning an international wedding posed its own challenges, from language barriers to time zone adjustments. To alleviate some of the logistical pressures, the couple enlisted the help of their event design team, ensuring a smooth coordination of the celebrations.
Bali is particularly special to the couple, as it was a place they visited during periods of long-distance separation. Sotaridona mentioned, “Being able to get married here makes it feel like our story has come full circle.” Adding a personal touch, they were married by Sotaridona’s sister, Kim-Zaira, who was instrumental in bringing the couple together when she and Gibson became roommates in the U.S.
Kim-Zaira recounted the pivotal moment that led to their union, commenting on how a simple search for a roommate on Facebook Marketplace connected two individuals who would eventually marry. “Considering I’ve built my career on social media, it’s pretty incredible that one of those platforms played such an unexpected role in bringing us together,” Sotaridona remarked.
Their romance blossomed rapidly, with the couple officially starting to date just three months after they met. On November 26, 2022, Sotaridona proposed during a sunset outing on Oahu’s north shore, a place that holds cherished memories for both as they had holidayed there several times over the years.
On their wedding day, Gibson dazzled in a strapless lace gown by Galia Lahav, complemented by a dramatic cathedral-length train. She shared her experience choosing the dress, emphasising its special significance to her family, who were present for the moment she settled on the gown. “It felt timeless, romantic, and completely like me,” she said, reflecting on the importance of having her loved ones with her during the selection process.
The couple exchanged handwritten vows in a ceremony presided over by her brother and beautifully framed by the ocean backdrop. The moment was accentuated with a spectacular display of coloured smoke fireworks, an iconic feature that also drew them to their chosen venue. Dessert options consisted of two cakes—a chocolate mousse bar and mango cheesecake—alongside a unique faux wedding cake to maintain tradition.
During the soirée, the couple changed into different outfits, with Gibson donning a chic Rosie Etienne mini dress, while Sotaridona opted for a stylish long-sleeve shirt. Guests were treated to a red-carpet experience, along with a specially choreographed first dance that had entailed five weeks of preparation.
As for their honeymoon, the couple has yet to finalise plans but have indicated a desire to explore the beauty of Italy. Their focus now shifts to embracing their future together, which they hope includes parenthood.
