Estelle was placed at the top of the organ donation list in the Northeast, with her parents clinging to hope that a suitable heart would soon be found. “For many weeks, we genuinely believed her time was just around the corner,” Estee revealed in an interview. However, the waiting period was fraught with anxiety, as Estelle was rendered ineligible for a transplant multiple times due to changing health conditions.

Despite being treated with the strongest antibiotics, Estelle’s health deteriorated, leading to septic shock and indications of kidney and liver failure.
