**Cold Case Murder Suspect Arrested After 40-Year Investigation**

In a significant development, authorities have arrested a suspect connected to the murder of John Warren, a travelling auto parts salesman whose brutal death went unsolved for over four decades. Randy McAllister, 62, is accused of being involved in the violent robbery and murder of Warren, whose body was discovered in a Holiday Inn in Ohio in 1985.

On October 16, 1985, Warren checked into the hotel in Middletown, Ohio, for the night. Following a tragic turn of events, he was found dead the next morning, having been beaten and strangled. Investigators reported that personal belongings, including Warren’s car—a 1985 Oldsmobile—had gone missing from the scene, indicating a potential robbery.

In the days that followed, police discovered some of Warren’s possessions discarded behind a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Dalton, Georgia. The Oldsmobile was eventually located in Redington Beach, Florida. Despite these findings, the case remained cold, and no substantial leads emerged for many years.

However, the investigation was reignited in 2019 when detectives from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office revisited the case, examining the evidence collected from the crime scene anew. The decision to resubmit key items for analysis led to significant breakthroughs, ultimately pointing investigators towards McAllister and an accomplice who has since died.

On July 6, Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell announced that a grand jury had indicted McAllister for aggravated murder and murder. During McAllister’s initial court appearance on July 7, he was portrayed as having a history of violent crime, including prior convictions for felonious assault and aggravated robbery.
