However, she acknowledges that the topic is complex. “We must also empathise with the fishermen themselves, as many are impoverished and resort to perilous methods to survive due to dwindling fish stocks,” she added.

One of her most gratifying experiences comes from observing the success of coral restoration projects. “After planting coral, returning to a site months later to see marine life flourish in areas once barren is incredibly fulfilling,” she shared. “Tangible transformations occur rapidly; within a single dive, you can spot fish returning to a restored area.”
