Norwegian tennis star Casper Ruud and his long-time partner Maria Galligani have officially tied the knot in a picturesque wedding held in Mallorca, Spain. The couple, who have been together for nearly eight years, celebrated the occasion alongside their young daughter, born in January this year, who was referred to as the “youngest and most important guest” by Vogue.

The couple’s journey began in earnest back in 2018, and they have frequently captured the public’s attention as they navigated their relationship amid Ruud’s rising career in tennis. In November 2022, the 27-year-old athlete took to Instagram to announce their engagement, expressing his excitement to marry Galligani with a heartfelt post that read, “Can’t wait to marry you💍🤍.”

Ruud has always been supportive of Galligani’s choice to maintain a low profile, often describing her preference for privacy in interviews. “It’s her choice,” he remarked during a 2024 interview with We Are Tennis. “On the social media side… she doesn’t want it. She wants to be her own, in control of her kind of life and especially personal life.”
Plans for their wedding came after a significant life update announced in September 2025, when Ruud and Galligani revealed they were expecting their first child. Their daughter arrived on January 30, 2026, just in time for her to be part of the couple’s wedding festivities.
The celebration took place from June 11 to June 14 at the Grand Hotel Son Net in Mallorca, a locale that holds sentimental value for the couple, as they have visited the island multiple times for both leisure and work-related events. Reflecting on their experiences, Galligani shared with Vogue, “We have returned many times since, both for work and for holidays.”
The wedding festivities were filled with life and joy, featuring a welcome party, a sports day, and a tennis-themed garden party. Galligani explained their intentions for the celebration, stating, “We wanted a wedding full of life and love, where our guests could gain insight into—and share—the love we have for each other.”
In crafting their special day, the couple revealed that they had hoped for their daughter to play a part in the nuptials. They expressed that the arrival of their child was a dream they had even before getting engaged. “Even before getting engaged, we had already started dreaming about starting a family,” they said. “So we tried to time things in a way that would allow us to have the child we dreamed of included in the ceremony.”
The ceremony was marked by personal touches, including Galligani’s custom gown designed by Norwegian designer Ove Harder Finseth, while Ruud donned a bespoke tuxedo crafted by Oslo tailor Skabo. These carefully chosen outfits added a unique flair to the occasion.
As the ceremony unfolded, Ruud admitted to feeling overwhelmed with emotion as he watched Galligani walk down the aisle accompanied by her father. “I was quite nervous before walking out. When I saw Maria walking toward me, it was difficult to hold back my tears,” he shared. His feelings were a blend of gratitude, luck, and happiness.
After exchanging their vows, the couple left the ceremony to the soulful sounds of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s classic, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” encapsulating the love and joy of the moment.
In a joint reflection on their wedding, Ruud and Galligani stated, “We are, of course, incredibly happy. It truly felt like the best weekend of our lives, and we were able to celebrate it with all of our closest family members and dearest friends. It became everything we could have dreamed of.”
As the couple embarks on this new chapter together, fans and well-wishers alike are delighted to witness their journey, embracing both their personal life and Ruud’s professional aspirations within the tennis world.
