Kieron Moore, best known for his role in Netflix’s series *Boots*, has arrived on the big screen with the provocative drama *Blue Film*. This marks the 29-year-old actor’s feature film debut, where he portrays a complex character often navigating difficult themes surrounding sexuality and personal trauma.

In *Blue Film*, Moore takes on the role of Aaron Eagle, a fetish cam boy. His character is offered a staggering $50,000 to spend a night with one of his fans, portrayed by Tony Award-winning actor Reed Birney. The plot takes an unexpected turn when the fan’s disturbing connection to Aaron’s past is revealed, leading both characters on a tumultuous journey neither anticipated.
Reflecting on his unconventional debut, Moore admitted, “If you had asked me early in my career whether I thought my first feature film would be such a role, I would have said no.” He acknowledges the risks associated with tackling such serious themes, including pedophilia and sex work. “This could have been a disaster. It really could have been,” he stated. Despite initial reservations, he was determined to take on the project, believing it was an opportunity to explore his craft further.
Moore’s decision to engage with challenging material stems from a desire to push his artistic boundaries. He shared a pivotal moment with his acting coach, who posed the question: “Do you want to be a famous actor, or do you want to be a dangerous artist?” This resonated with Moore, who recognised the need to embrace daring roles to follow in the footsteps of the artists he admires.
Since its release in May, *Blue Film* has garnered remarkable critical acclaim, boasting a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This success has significantly raised Moore’s profile in the acting world, marking him as a talent to watch closely.
Prior to this venture, Moore was looking to give his creativity a new outlet during a break from filming *Boots*. “I was itching to be creative,” he recalls. The desire to express himself fully through performance, coupled with the compelling nature of *Blue Film*, quickly convinced him to join the project.
Interestingly, the first viewing of *Blue Film* was by Moore’s mother before he had the chance to see it himself. “I had the link for her, and she was keen to watch it,” he shared, adding with a touch of humour, *”I thought I might never be able to look her in the eye again.”* However, her positive response has provided him with reassurance amidst the film’s polarising nature.
Moore’s path to acting is not traditional. Before immersing himself in the arts, he spent time working in law firms and even had a 12-year career as a professional boxer. A creative spirit throughout his life, he had dabbled in poetry, which ultimately fuelled his passion for acting. He described his journey as one filled with different phases, stating, *“I’ve had a few lives.”*
In his reflections on *Blue Film*, Moore regards his experience as an invaluable blessing. Emphasising authenticity, he conveyed that embracing challenging material has allowed him to present his true self on screen rather than conform to expectations. “At the beginning, I didn’t really know what that looked like,” he admitted, *“but now I just want to reflect and say, ‘Wow, I gave that a good go.’”*
Now, *Blue Film* is available for audiences to rent or purchase on various digital platforms, enabling more viewers to engage with its bold narrative and compelling performances. As Kieron Moore embarks on this exciting new chapter in his career, he stands poised to solidify his reputation in the film industry, promising a future filled with intriguing roles and powerful storytelling.
