Shaye Scott, a well-known transgender influencer, has shared her journey regarding her recent bottom surgery and the impact it has had on her life. Throughout her life, Scott has struggled with feelings of gender incongruence, particularly concerning her body. This discomfort was something she carried for many years, often pushing it aside. “Since my earliest memories, I have had gender dysphoria around that area of my body,” she explained. Her journey towards embracing her true self took a pivotal turn when she came out as transgender after over 15 years of marriage to her wife, Amanda.
The couple’s journey gained considerable attention after Scott publicly announced her transition in 2023. Collectively, Scott and Amanda have built a substantial following on social media, amassing over one million followers on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. The couple’s openness about their experiences, including discussions of gender dysphoria, resonated with many people.

Scott disclosed that in 2019, she confided in Amanda about her feelings of gender dysphoria, marking the beginning of a transformative chapter in their lives. “Over the next several years, we left the Mormon Church and began sharing my transition with our family, including our three children,” she recalled. Along the way, Scott underwent facial feminisation surgery, which she regarded as an important step on her transition journey.
As the thought of bottom surgery lingered in her mind, Scott took significant time before making her decision. “It’s a major surgery, so it’s something you want to take very seriously to ensure it’s the right decision for you,” she remarked. However, it was the unwavering support from Amanda that ultimately encouraged Scott to pursue this final part of her medical transition.
Amanda’s encouragement played a vital role in Scott’s decision-making process. “She was incredibly supportive, almost positively cheering me on,” Scott said. The fear of losing loved ones weighed on her, but Amanda’s reassurance that the surgery was important for Scott made a significant difference. “I had her communicate that this is something she wanted for me,” Scott reflected.
In February of this year, after months of contemplation, Scott underwent the surgery and kept her followers updated throughout the process. Initially, the couple had considered keeping this aspect of their journey private but felt compelled to maintain transparency. “Every step we’ve taken in our transition, we’ve put it out into the light. I feel like it’s helped us feel more genuine,” Scott commented. She believes that sharing their story not only supports their authenticity but also helps dispel misconceptions about the transgender experience.
Now, several months after the surgery, Scott describes a newfound sense of comfort in her skin. “I haven’t looked back since surgery day,” she shared. Reflecting on her experience, she emphasised that for the first time, she felt no regret. “After all the build-up with this procedure — because it’s very serious and there’s a lot of negativity out there about it — this is probably the first procedure where there hasn’t been a moment of regret at all,” Scott concluded.
Scott’s inspirational journey highlights not only her personal achievements but also the importance of community and support in navigating issues of identity and transition. As discussions surrounding gender and inclusion continue to evolve, her candidness may contribute to increased understanding and awareness in society. Throughout this transformative period, both Shaye and Amanda have demonstrated that love and acceptance are fundamental in supporting individual journeys towards authenticity.
