Tom Brady, the celebrated retired quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion, is embarking on a new chapter as he introduces his coconut water brand called Good Nut. During a recent conversation with *People* magazine, the 48-year-old sports icon shared his approach to maintaining a healthy lifestyle while indulging in his favourite treats, notably his love for chocolate.

The brand Good Nut features a variety of flavours, including a chocolate option that Brady describes as an improved version of chocolate milk. As he explains, “Coconut’s nice; it’s almost like a creamy taste.” This new venture highlights his desire to merge health with enjoyment, particularly as he navigates a busy lifestyle marked by travel and family commitments.
Currently holidaying in the Bahamas, Brady reflected on his dietary habits. His meals are predominantly healthy, consisting of fruits and lean proteins, yet he does allow room for indulgence. “I had a little burger when I was golfing earlier today,” he mentioned, followed by plans for sushi that evening. His strategy revolves around balance. “Too much of a good thing is not a good thing, either,” he stated, emphasising that moderation is key to his overall well-being.
The creation of Good Nut was a collaborative effort with Gopuff, yet the cheeky name of the product took Brady by surprise. “I really have no idea how we came up with this,” he explained. “I think it was just pitched in a meeting, and next thing you know we all laughed, and next thing you know the cans were all printed.” The lighthearted approach appears to resonate with consumers, evoking curiosity as they engage with the brand.
Brady further divulged that most of the products he has developed, including Good Nut and GOAT Gummies, are items he personally enjoys and regularly consumes. “You would normally find in my own pantry and in my own refrigerator,” he commented, reinforcing the brand’s authenticity.
As a self-proclaimed “chocoholic,” Brady’s personal taste heavily influences his work. He has been keen to incorporate delicious options like chocolate into his diet without sacrificing health. He acknowledges that about 80-90% of his diet consists of wholesome foods, which allows some leeway for occasional treats: “When I’m travelling, I tend to bring a lot of my own stuff with me,” referring to his cherished coconut water and special GOAT gummies.
Family is another focal point for Brady, who has recently been busy preparing for his son Jack’s high school graduation on June 12. “We’re all gonna be up there celebrating him,” he shared, emphasising the importance of family milestones. His reflections highlight how quickly time passes and the significance of cherishing such moments. Brady, who shares Jack with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan, has two other children, Benjamin and Vivian, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.
Brady’s views on diet have evolved since his playing days, when he adhered to a strict regimen. He has recently revealed that he now enjoys more traditional family foods, including candy and Nutella pancakes for his children. “I think there’s probably been, people have gone kinda overboard with the rigidity of my lifestyle or diet,” he stated in another interview. He aims for healthier choices but acknowledges the joys of family celebrations and children’s festivities.
Although he maintains certain dietary restrictions, avoiding sugars and specific ingredients, Brady stresses that his approach is flexible. “I don’t think it’s a strict regimen,” he explained, “It’s just trying to make healthy choices that allow me to live the life I want to live.”
As summer approaches, Brady plans to travel across Europe with his children and possibly enjoy a trip to Hawaii. Balancing travel, work, and family time poses a challenge, yet Brady embraces the chaos with a positive outlook. His perspective is clear: life’s sweetness can be found in both family moments and the occasional treat, making him a quintessential figure of balance and enjoyment in both his personal and professional endeavours.
