Maura Higgins is preparing to step onto the dance floor for the forthcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars”, and she has shared her insights and experiences as she gears up for what promises to be a challenging competition. Ballas, a seasoned pro on “Dancing with the Stars”, described the competition as akin to a “marathon”, emphasising its demanding nature. Higgins reflected on his words, stating, “It’s intense. I’ve never done anything like that,” before noting that she had hoped to take some time to unwind prior to the training. However, her busy schedule has prevented any substantial relaxation.
Acknowledging the challenge of the competition, Higgins expressed her intent to approach the season with a unique flair. “I’m just going to try my best. I’m just going to bring my own flavour to it and bring my personality and my charisma,” she said, revealing that she considers herself somewhat of a novice when it comes to dancing. “Honestly, I have two left feet,” she admitted.

Alongside her excitement for the show, Higgins was buoyed by the sentiments of fellow contestant Robert Irwin, who suggested that her early announcement as a contestant could signify good fortune. “I walked her out [to announce the season in April] and she was like, ‘I feel like this is a good omen. Like, this was you last year, you were the first announced,’” Irwin remarked. His confidence seemed to resonate with Higgins, who is a firm believer in the power of manifestation.
“I love that he said that because to me, that’s like putting it out to the universe,” Higgins reflected. She added, “I’m a strong believer in manifesting, so yeah, everyone just keep manifesting for me because I definitely need that.” This sense of optimism is reflective of her overall approach to the competition.
Higgins is also keen to maintain a balance during her time on the show. “I’m going to put the work in. I’m not going to be lazy with it. I want to do well,” she affirmed. At the same time, she stressed the importance of enjoyment, stating, “I don’t want to take it so seriously that I lose the fun side of it. I just want to be me and have fun.”
Reflecting on her strategy for competing, Higgins noted that she typically does not enter shows with a preconceived plan. “I think I just want to go in and be me,” she said. This straightforward approach is indicative of her desire to embrace the experience rather than overthink it. She also dismissed any trepidation she may have had from her time on “The Traitors”, where challenges were more physically demanding.
Looking ahead to her dance training, Higgins expressed particular enthusiasm for mastering the Argentine tango. “I’m sure it’s really, really hard,” she remarked, adding, “That is such a sexy, hot dance. I don’t know, there’s something about it. I am always drawn to watching that dance.” She hopes to secure a spot long enough in the competition to learn this captivating dance style.
In addition to her participation in “Dancing with the Stars”, Higgins has partnered with Wingstop, promoting the launch of their new Club Wingstop loyalty programme. This programme features a range of benefits including the sharing of loyalty points and exclusive member events. Starting from June 1, members will have the opportunity to receive a curated “Club in a Box” prize, which Higgins has designed in collaboration with Wingstop.
This exclusive prize comes in a unique format, resembling a Birkin bag and includes various items such as a green beret, a JBL speaker, a Polaroid camera, and a Wingstop gift card. The combination of Higgins’ commitment to both her dancing ambitions and her partnership with Wingstop showcases her dynamic approach to a busy career in entertainment.
As she navigates her upcoming season on “Dancing with the Stars”, audiences will eagerly watch Higgins not only to see her grow as a dancer but also to witness her infectious personality shine through. With her determined spirit and belief in manifestation, it seems she is ready to embrace the journey ahead.
