Natasha Gregson Wagner is on a mission to ensure that her daughter Clover develops a meaningful connection with her late grandmother, the iconic actress Natalie Wood. Wagner shared her deep desire for Clover, who is approaching her 14th birthday, to learn about her grandmother’s legacy in a way that resonates with her. “I really want Clover to feel a connection to her grandma,” she stated. Reflecting on how she could achieve this after Clover’s birth, Natasha noted that she surrounded her daughter with memories and artefacts from both her own life and that of her mother. “There are many things from my mum’s life that are present in my home,” she explained, adding, “It seemed only natural for Clover to be exposed to these elements.”

Natasha emphasised that while she wants Clover to embrace this legacy, it is essential for her daughter to have the autonomy to choose her level of involvement. “She’s the only grandchild of my mum, and I want her to lead the way in how much she wishes to engage with this history,” Natasha remarked. She added that it’s crucial to respect Clover’s boundaries, acknowledging that there may be instances when her daughter might prefer to step back.
Describing Clover as “an incredibly down-to-earth, sweet person,” Natasha expressed pride in her daughter’s presence at various events related to her grandmother. As they participate together in photos and ceremonies, she finds joy in seeing Clover take part in the celebration of Natalie’s life. “She’s adorable. It’s wonderful when she is involved,” Natasha shared.
The heartfelt efforts to honour Natalie Wood’s rich legacy culminated in the recent exhibition at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Orange County. This display, titled “More Than Love: The Life and Art of Natalie Wood,” showcases the numerous facets of the actress’s life, including her extensive art collection and personal memorabilia. Natasha was approached by curator Annabella Pritchard to collaborate on the exhibition, which has been in the works for two years.
Natasha described the exhibition as a “beautiful experience” and expressed particular fondness for its location. The Muckenthaler Cultural Center, a former residence, holds sentimental value for her, as many of the pieces on exhibit were part of her childhood home. “It was exciting to see these items presented in a place that feels like home rather than a traditional gallery,” she explained.
Reflecting on her childhood, Natasha recalled how her family frequently entertained guests, creating an atmosphere rich in personal stories and cherished moments. Among the items featured in the exhibition is the green piano on which both she and Clover learnt to play. This instrument serves as a poignant reminder of the continuing family legacy.
In addition to the exhibition, Natasha has also worked to showcase a selection of Natalie Wood’s costumes from various Warner Bros. productions. Last summer, Natasha and Clover visited the Warner Archives, where they explored her mother’s historical outfits. One highlight from this collection is the pristine white lace dress from the classic film “West Side Story,” a critical piece of cinematic history that showcases Wood’s enduring influence on film.
Later this year, Natasha will further honour her mother during a fundraiser hosted by the LA Conservancy, which will include a screening of “Rebel Without a Cause.” This opportunity will allow her to engage in conversation about the film with Leonard Maltin, adding another layer of personal connection to the tribute.
Beyond her endeavours to immortalise her mother’s legacy, Natasha has her own fragrance line, L’Amour Mère, which she launched last summer. This venture allows her to express her passion for scents and connects her to her artistic roots.
In all of these efforts, Natasha Gregson Wagner is steadfastly committed to preserving and sharing the rich legacy of Natalie Wood with a new generation, making sure that her daughter Clover carries forward the essence of her beloved grandmother.
