A kitten’s adventurous journey across Pennsylvania concluded safely thanks to the swift actions of local authorities and citizens. The young feline, fondly named Breezy, surprisingly travelled over 100 miles, tucked away inside the grill of a car, unbeknownst to the driver.

Kennedy Township Police Department received an unusual call early in the morning on May 26, after a resident discovered the kitten stuck in their vehicle. The department took to social media to share the intriguing story, stating, “This morning, our police department received an unusual call: a baby kitten was found stuck in the grill of a resident’s car in Kennedy Highlands.”
Images published by the police showcased Officers Ficarri and Peterson, who were on the scene alongside road department workers Jim Gallagher and Todd Castlevetter. These individuals were seen crouched by the vehicle, attempting to coax the kitten to safety. Their teamwork highlighted a community effort to ensure the well-being of the unexpected stowaway.
According to Chief Anthony Bruni, the kitten climbed into the grill while the car’s driver made a pit stop in Breezewood, a small town in Pennsylvania, before embarking on the long journey home to Kennedy Township. It was not until the next morning that the driver heard meowing and realised something was amiss. “Several individuals gathered around his car and advised him that a cat had walked under his car, a kitten,” Bruni explained. “He looked under his car, he checked around, he didn’t see any cats. He figured the kitten had probably just wandered away.”
After being freed from its unusual hiding spot, the little traveller was warmly welcomed by the authorities. They expressed gratitude for the efforts of all those involved in the rescue operation, confirming, “The little traveler was safely rescued.”
Once the kitten was secured, it was temporarily taken in by the driver’s neighbour, who has since begun to care for the furry passenger. There are plans for Breezy to eventually be placed up for adoption, giving the little adventurer a chance to find a forever home.
