Victoria, along with her mother and fiancé, had been engaging with the Maryland Lottery’s new $5 scratch-off game since its launch on 20 March. While they had previously enjoyed some smaller wins, it was this recent occasion that saw Victoria uncover a “SPIN” symbol, which was a thrilling first for her. The ticket, which resulted in her life-changing outcome, was purchased at a local Express Mart in Salisbury.
Accompanied by her fiancé and following arrangements for babysitting their five-month-old son, Victoria made her way to the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The couple was eager for Victoria to give The Big Spin Wheel a try. A video released by the lottery captures the moment—victorious and beaming, Victoria reached up to spin the wheel, her excitement palpable as she waited for the wheel to come to a halt.
To her astonishment, the wheel finally landed on the $90,000 mark. Following her triumphant spin, Victoria shared her plans for the prize money with the Maryland Lottery team. She intends to allocate the funds towards her upcoming wedding and honeymoon, with dreams of a getaway to the Bahamas featured prominently in her plans. Additionally, Victoria expressed her intentions to set aside a portion of her winnings for her son’s future.
The Big Spin game, popular among Maryland Lottery enthusiasts, offers players the chance not only to win substantial sums but also various instant prizes. Most “SPIN” symbols on the tickets yield cash rewards ranging from £10 to £250. However, a total of eight winning tickets allow players to take a chance at the Big Spin Wheel, with potential prizes ranging from £50,000 to £250,000. Of the eight winning tickets, four are yet to be claimed.
Lottery players also have another layer of opportunity, as the game features two remaining instant top prizes of £50,000, along with numerous chances to win smaller amounts ranging from £5 to £5,000.
While Victoria’s story serves as a source of excitement for many, it also highlights an important message regarding gambling. The Maryland Lottery encourages responsible gaming and reminds individuals struggling with gambling issues to seek help.
