Cruise Passenger Turns Herself in After She Allegedly ‘Violently Punched’ a Young Girl in the Face

An Iowa woman was arrested on May 4, following an incident on a Carnival cruise ship where she allegedly punched a young girl in the face, resulting in a severe nosebleed and significant pain. Jennifer Frost, aged 44, surrendered to authorities at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, after weeks of legal negotiation with her attorney.

According to a police report reviewed by PEOPLE, the confrontation occurred on March 19 while the victim, identified as a juvenile, was waiting in line with friends and family at a restaurant aboard the Carnival Sunrise. Officers documented that Frost attempted to insert herself into the group’s conversation, displaying signs of intoxication. Witnesses described her behaviour as trying to engage in the conversation as if she were part of the group, which made the victim feel uncomfortable.

The victim initially sought to ignore Frost’s presence. However, according to the affidavit, Frost unexpectedly confronted the young girl and aggressively punched her directly in the face. Following the assault, the victim experienced a severe nosebleed and immediate discomfort in her facial area.

After the incident, Frost reportedly tried to escape, but several witnesses followed her until security personnel on the ship intervened. The cruise ship’s security team, equipped with body-worn cameras, recorded Frost’s statements, during which she allegedly admitted to the attack and reportedly expressed satisfaction with her actions. The police report mentioned that CCTV footage from the ship corroborated the details provided by the young girl.

Upon the return of the Carnival Sunrise to the Port of Miami on March 21, Frost disembarked without contacting law enforcement. Following the incident, her attorney, Carlos Zapata, communicated with detectives and pledged that Frost would return to Miami to turn herself in, given that she does not reside in Florida.

Frost was eventually charged with one count of battery and a bond was set at £2,500. She has since been released from custody. The case has raised questions regarding passenger behaviour on cruise ships and the enforcement of security measures in such environments.
