In a heartfelt episode of her podcast, *Between Us*, Page Turner, best known for her role on HGTV, shared her journey of grief after losing her mother, Patricia Turner. The emotional discussion came nearly a year after her mother’s passing, where she reflected on the profound impact it had on her life.

Turner, aged 53, spoke candidly about the challenges she faced in the wake of her mother’s death, which occurred in June 2025. During the podcast episode, co-hosted by her boyfriend Mike Hill, she described the difficulties of navigating life without her mother’s support. She opened up about her struggles as a single mother of three children, managing the responsibilities of parenthood without any financial assistance.

“My mom was my rock,” Turner expressed. “It was just me, my mom, and my sister raising my kids.” The loss, she admitted, was an overwhelming experience, eclipsing other hardships she had faced throughout her life. “I knew I had to hustle through everything, but I didn’t know how to cope with losing my mum,” she revealed.
In order to begin processing her sorrow, Turner sought grief therapy just weeks after her mother’s death. “I knew I had to get into grief therapy almost immediately,” she said. “I think I started within a month, maybe even two or three weeks.” The decision to engage in therapy was crucial for her, as she felt ill-prepared to handle such an immense void in her life.
Reflecting further on her past, Turner highlighted how her struggles began at a young age when she lost her father at just eight years old. “I’ve faced hard situations my whole life,” she explained. By the time she became a single mother at the age of 23, her resilience was already tested. “I built a career that put me on TV at 44—all by faith,” she noted. Yet, she emphasised that nothing could have equipped her for the depth of grief she experienced after her mother’s passing. “I lost my breath AND my anchor,” she added poignantly.
During her therapy sessions, Turner explored not only her grief, but also long-avoided personal patterns and pain. She described this process as life-changing. “It was the beginning of setting me free in a way,” she stated. Remarkably, she expressed gratitude towards her late mother for the lessons learned throughout her healing journey, saying, “Thank you, Mommy.”
After her mother passed away at the age of 85, Turner shared a touching tribute on social media, revealing that she was by her mother’s side when she took her final breath. Reflecting on their relationship, she recounted a humorous moment they shared while watching an episode of *Love It or List It*. Her mother’s remark about her use of the word “gonna” left a lasting impression. The nostalgic memory brought a smile to Turner’s face amid her sorrow, illustrating their close bond.
To conclude her heartfelt homage, Turner wrote: “Rest well Mama, you gave us your ALL & I don’t quite know what we’re gonna do without you.” In one last affectionate nod to their shared laughter, she added, “I bet you’re already telling a host of angels ‘It’s ING ING like in KING!’ Love you forever Ma.”
In 2025, Turner joined David Visentin as the co-host of *Love It or List It*, stepping into the role after Hilary Farr departed the show. Despite the emotional weight of her recent experiences, Turner is committed to continuing her work in television, and in August 2026, HGTV announced that the beloved series would be returning for another season.
Through her openness about grief, Page Turner offers a poignant reminder of the challenges many face when dealing with loss and the importance of seeking help in times of emotional turmoil. As she continues her career and navigates life without her mother, her journey illustrates both resilience and the power of love that endures even in the face of profound sorrow.
