The actress shared the joyful news through social media and during a recent episode of her podcast, “LadyGang,” which she co-hosts alongside Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek. In a heartfelt announcement, Tobin expressed her excitement by calling her best friend Megan to convey the development. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, and my heart is bursting to finally share it!” she wrote, alongside a video clip on Instagram.

The soon-to-be mother of two revealed that they are expanding their family through surrogacy once again. In her podcast, where Tobin was joined by her surrogate, Katie, she admitted they were both “thrilled” yet “scared” about adding another child to their household. After having had their son Ford for four years, she reflected on their journey, stating, “It’s been incredible, wonderful, magical, and we are doing it again. Round two.”
Tobin and Martin have yet to break the news to Ford that he will soon become a big brother. In her podcast, Tobin requested listeners to keep the information under wraps until they could tell him personally. She asked for advice on how to approach this significant moment with her son.
With regard to her openness about this pregnancy, Tobin explained that her previous experience was marked by caution and privacy due to societal judgement. Reflecting on her first pregnancy, she noted, “The world is a s–tty place sometimes, and people really like to insert their opinions on how you create your family.” The actress shared her feelings of nervousness stemming from past failed attempts to conceive, which had compounded her anxieties during her first pregnancy.
In contrast, she remarked that her resilience has grown throughout this journey. “This time around, I have such a thick skin with people, as you’ll see, judging my decisions. So what the f–k? You know, why not?” Tobin’s willingness to embrace and share her experiences marks a poignant shift in her approach to motherhood.
Back in February 2022, the couple announced the arrival of Ford via surrogate in an equally heartfelt message. Tobin shared a precious photograph of Martin carrying their newborn son in a car seat as they left the hospital. “Welcome to the world, Ford. 💙 Rutherford ‘Ford’ Thomas Martin is here and life is already so much sweeter,” Tobin wrote, expressing gratitude towards their surrogate and acknowledging the emotional journey they had undertaken to become parents.
The actress has been transparent about her past fertility challenges, including two miscarriages, and her decision to pursue in vitro fertilisation. In a previous podcast episode, she explained her commitment to sharing these personal struggles, saying, “There are thousands and millions of women going through this. I couldn’t be like, ‘Yay, my life is perfect.’” Her intent to open up about her own adversities resonates with many, as she sheds light on the complexities of fertility and parenthood.
As Tobin prepares to welcome her daughter into the world, she exemplifies the importance of community and the support that can come from sharing personal narratives. The actress’s journey to motherhood highlights the need for open dialogue around fertility and the myriad ways families can be created. With her second child on the way, Tobin’s story continues to inspire many as she navigates the joys and challenges of parenthood.
