As of April 29, the beloved characters from the original trilogy, including Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo, will be more visible throughout the area. The latest enhancements to Galaxy’s Edge expand its timeline, allowing guests to encounter familiar faces from various eras of the iconic saga.

When Galaxy’s Edge was first unveiled in 2019, its narrative was primarily set between “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker”, following the journeys of Rey and Kylo Ren. However, the new updates mean that visitors can now step into the wider Star Wars universe, including storylines from the original trilogy, enriching their experience at Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.
The 14-acre land will now feature several appearances from key characters. Fans can look forward to encounters with Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, and enduring heroes like Chewbacca. In addition to these classic characters, beloved figures already present in Galaxy’s Edge, such as Ahsoka Tano and Grogu, will continue to roam the area, providing guests with a dynamic and interactive environment.

Asa Kalama, the Vice President of Creative and Interactive Experiences at Walt Disney Imagineering, highlighted the importance of these props for devoted fans. He mentioned, “There’s truly nothing more authentic than the actual screen-used version of a prop,” inviting visitors to enjoy the thrill of spotting these items and reminiscing on their film appearances. Although specific props were not disclosed, Kalama teased that fans should look out for pieces from the series “Andor.”
In addition to these updates in Galaxy’s Edge, Tomorrowland has also welcomed back the much-loved Hyperspace Mountain for a limited time. This special overlay of the classic Space Mountain ride allows thrill-seekers to embark on a high-speed journey through a thrilling Star Wars adventure, navigating the chaos of Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters.
Moreover, the excitement continues with an upcoming new mission for the “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” ride, set to debut on May 22.
