7-Year-Old Girl Overdoses on Fentanyl and Methamphetamine After Unknowingly Drinking a Contaminated Slushie

In a deeply concerning incident in Charlack, Missouri, a seven-year-old girl is in critical condition after reportedly overdosing on fentanyl and methamphetamine. The alarming situation arose when emergency services responded to a 911 call concerning the child at a residence located on Olden Avenue on April 19.

Upon arrival, officers from the St. Ann Police Department found sufficient evidence to suspect that drug use had played a significant role in the child’s deteriorating health. Following careful investigation, it was established that she had ingested a mixture of the illicit substances through a slushie, leading to her present critical state.

Reports indicate that Jaslyn Raquelle Crawford, aged 32, is at the centre of the investigation. She reportedly admitted to law enforcement that she had been using drugs in the bathroom of the girl’s mother’s home when the child unexpectedly entered the space. Authorities believe that the combination of drugs was somehow introduced into the slushie, which the young girl consumed.

Upon her arrest, police discovered additional illegal narcotics concealed within Crawford’s belongings, specifically in her bra and handbag. Following the accumulation of evidence, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has filed two felony charges against her: Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 1st Degree (Serious Physical Injury) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Creating Substantial Risk – 1st Degree.

Crawford is currently detained at the St. Louis County Jail, facing a substantial bail amount of $250,000 with no allowance for a ten per cent reduction. The gravity of the situation has spurred reaction from law enforcement and legal officials alike.

Captain Blake Carrigan of the St. Ann Police Department remarked on the tragic nature of the incident, noting that cases involving children and drug exposure are particularly disheartening.
