Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin are navigating through a recent unsettling experience with a surprising sense of humour. The couple recounted a frightening incident involving an intruder at their Los Angeles home during the New York premiere of *Devil Wears Prada 2* on 20 April. The former Disney star and the Hungarian supermodel shared their thoughts on the encounter, which occurred just days before the event.

The alarming episode took place in the early hours of Friday, 17 April. According to reports, Palvin spotted an “unidentified man” trespassing on their property while they were home. In response to the alarming sight, she promptly called 911. Sprouse, taking immediate action, subdued the intruder and held him at gunpoint until the authorities arrived.
While the situation could have turned dire, Sprouse noted that humour has helped them deal with the aftermath. Palvin shared her thoughts with E! News, saying, “Dealing with the trauma with jokes and fun.” Sprouse chimed in, indicating their shared perspective, adding, “I thought it was funny.” He further quipped that he never has qualms about finding levity in tough situations, stating that it is not “too soon” for laughter in this circumstance.
Despite the serious nature of the incident, the couple expressed gratitude that no one sustained injuries. “You gotta have levity in life,” Sprouse asserted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a carefree outlook even when faced with unsettling moments. Palvin concurred, noting that they were just pleased to move forward and enjoy the movie premiere.
Reports detail that the intruder did not gain entry into the couple’s home, and thankfully, no violence occurred beyond the initial confrontation. Interestingly, it has been reported that both Sprouse and Palvin chose not to press charges against the individual for trespassing.
The Los Angeles Police Department has not yet released the identity of the suspect, though sources have indicated that he was taken into custody due to outstanding warrants. As of now, the police department has not provided an official statement regarding the situation.
Sprouse and Palvin first met at a party in 2017, and their relationship blossomed over time, culminating in their marriage in Hungary in July 2023. The couple has consistently demonstrated their commitment to each other, often sharing insights into how they maintain their bond despite their demanding careers.
In a conversation with PEOPLE earlier this year, Palvin shared, “When I travel, he’s there with me and we’re not away from each other.” This approach seems to be a pivotal aspect of their relationship, as they strive to avoid being apart for longer than a few weeks at a time.
Looking to the future, Sprouse hinted at potential home improvement plans, stating, “We do have some plans. We’re currently thinking about doing a little remodel on the house, so maybe putting that into action.” This comment further reflects their desire to build a life together and continue nurturing their relationship.
As they put this scare behind them, both Sprouse and Palvin remain optimistic and focused on their work and love life. The incident may have been alarming, but it has not tainted their outlook on life. Instead, they continue to support one another and maintain a sense of humour as they navigate the challenges that come their way.
