Kayti Edwards, a former model currently managing a horse rescue centre in Joshua Tree, California, shared that she became pregnant in 2010. During this time, she and Allman had a brief relationship, but he was uninterested in parenthood, leading to him being absent throughout Ever’s childhood. According to Edwards, it was only last summer that Cher reached out to her inquiring about the truth behind the family rumours. “Cher got in touch with me last June and asked if it was true, so I had to confess,” Edwards explained. Edwards recalled Cher’s reaction to the news: “When she heard the news, she was speechless.”
Initially, Ever believed that Allman was merely a family friend. However, Edwards revealed that she only informed her daughter of the truth about her father last month. “He wanted to see her and have a relationship with her, but he wasn’t in any fit state,” Edwards noted. “She thought he was just a family friend at that point.”
Cher has expressed a desire to protect Ever from the complexities of the family dynamics, especially considering her son’s struggles. The mother added, “He needs to get back to being the guy I once knew, and Cher agrees. We need to get him better.”

The singer invited them to her Malibu home last September, where they spent a delightful evening together. “Cher was lovely and kind, and we had dinner,” Edwards recounted. “She showed Ever some of her concert jeans and they even played in the pool together.”
