In a heartwarming tale of compassion and connection, a seven-year-old girl in New Jersey found her wish granted after her father adopted her four-legged friend from a senior living community. The touching story began when Eugene Bogert, assistant dining director at a senior living community in Garfield, New Jersey, struck up a bond with a dog named Coco, an Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix.

Coco belonged to residents Charles and Nancy, who were part of the community while Eugene worked there. Eugene recalled how their relationship developed after Nancy asked him to walk Coco. “Me and Coco hit it off,” he shared, reminiscing about how the dog lightened up his days at work.
