Throughout the remainder of Kenneth’s military career, their friendship flourished, with regular exchanges sustaining their connection. However, as life often dictates, circumstances changed. Following Kenneth’s retirement in 2013 and amidst various personal transitions, the two friends gradually lost touch around 2015.

Almost a decade passed when Kenneth faced an unexpected and painful challenge. In August 2024, his wife, Michelle, fell gravely ill.
