**New Life for Abandoned Kittens Rescued from Pennsylvania Garden Centre**

Seven adorable kittens have been rescued after being found precariously nestled among shelving units at a Lowe’s store in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The discovery, made by diligent employees of the home improvement retailer, has prompted a local animal rescue organisation to step in and secure the future of these vulnerable felines.

Lisa Newton, a representative from Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue, recounted the remarkable series of events that unfolded when a volunteer contacted her regarding the kittens. Upon arrival, Newton was welcomed with the surprising revelation that seven kittens awaited her, rather than the few she had anticipated. “They directed me to the garden centre and said they have seven kittens, and I was surprised at that,” she said. “And, they said, ‘Two separate litters.'”

The kittens, believed to belong to two stray mother cats that frequent the garden centre, were discovered during a routine task. The staff noticed the little felines peeking out from the boxes after they removed a pallet from a high shelf. Newton elaborated on the rescue process, stating that a forklift was required to reach the high shelf where the kittens were precariously located.

“It was just in time,” Newton remarked. “I’m just glad we got them early because once they start crawling around, they could fall and die.” The urgency of their rescue was paramount, as the kittens were still in their early developmental stages, requiring constant care and bottle feeding.

Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue has taken to social media to share the kittens’ story, posting numerous photographs and updates about their progress. To honour the distinctive location where they were found, each kitten has been given a creatively themed name: Forklift, Herb, Pallet, Planter, Grass Seed, Lowe, and Rose.

The kittens are expected to be ready for adoption in around a month, as they continue to grow and gain strength. The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating the strong bond between residents and local animal welfare initiatives.

While the kittens are adjusting to their new life away from the store, attention is also being directed towards their mother cats. One of the stray mothers has already been located, and efforts are underway to trap and neuter both to prevent future litters. Newton explained the importance of addressing the situation proactively, stating, “Once we know about a situation, we try to quickly take care of the mum and dad so there are no more litters popping up.”
