The decision follows a string of incidents involving vandalism, food fights, loud confrontations, and disrespectful behaviour that have reportedly plagued her restaurant.

Murray, who is notably the first Black woman to own a franchise of the Culver’s chain, took to social media to express her frustrations and share surveillance footage highlighting the unruly conduct of some young patrons. She characterised her attempts to foster a positive environment for local youth—often offering meals to those in need and connecting students with tutors for academic support—before detailing the ongoing issues she faced.

“I deal with disrespectful kids on a daily basis,” she declared in her post. “My bathroom has been vandalised, they jump over the seats, they have food fights, and are so loud with their cursing and disrespect.” Faced with such persistent disruptions, she stated, “With that being said, kids aren’t allowed at my location without parental supervision.” Murray indicated that after extensive discussions with school administrators failed to yield results, she felt compelled to act.

In light of these challenges, Walker extended an invitation for community members to support Murray’s restaurant, emphasising the need for local patrons to rally behind her efforts. “We want to make sure that we’re showing Murray we’re behind her,” he said, signalling a community-wide commitment to addressing the disruptive behaviour affecting local establishments.
