In an exciting new chapter of her career, Whitney Leavitt, known for her role in “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” has embraced her position as Chief Creative and Brand Officer at Cool Sips, a popular New York chain specialising in “dirty soda.” On April 10, Leavitt celebrated her new role by handing out free drinks in SoHo, introducing New Yorkers to a unique beverage that holds cultural significance for many from Utah.

Dirty soda, a fizzy concoction that traditionally blends soda, creamer, and flavouring, has its origins in Utah and became widely known following its mention in Leavitt’s reality series. At the event, she expressed her excitement over the enthusiastic turnout, stating, “I just saw the line, it’s crazy. I was not expecting this many people. It’s overwhelming, I’m excited. Dirty soda’s been a part of my culture and my life, so I’m excited to bring it to the big city!”
Leavitt’s hands-on approach to her new position was evident during the event, where she personally engaged with fans, took photographs, and even filmed a TikTok video with her husband, Conner Leavitt. “Whitney has helped bring Dirty Sodas into the cultural mainstream,” noted Andrew Moger, the founder of Cool Sips, who praised her creative instincts and entrepreneurial mindset. He emphasised her unique qualifications to elevate the brand’s visibility and cultural relevance.
The innovative drink that Leavitt promoted at the event, dubbed “The Whitney,” features an exciting blend of club soda, sugar-free pineapple, sugar-free peach, sugar-free vanilla, lime syrup, and raspberry purée. Although she admits she hasn’t yet conceived any “too crazy” flavours, the introduction of her special drink showcases her passion for not only dirty sodas but also her vision for menu innovation in her new role.
Leavitt’s move to New York City also coincides with her impressive run as Roxie Hart in the acclaimed Broadway production of “Chicago,” which has seen an extended run due to popular demand. Her children, who have acclimatised to city life, often come backstage to see their mother perform. Leavitt remarked on their enthusiasm for their new environment, saying, “They brag to their cousins about how they get to walk to school. They think it’s the coolest thing.”
Though the bustling city may be a far cry from her roots, Leavitt values the balance she has achieved in her life. Juggling her roles as a mother, performer, and now a C-suite executive, she emphasises the importance of individual priorities when it comes to balancing personal and professional life. “You’ve got to figure out what your priorities are; your needs are going to be different than my needs,” she noted thoughtfully.
Throughout her journey, Whitney has relied on a robust support system, with her husband Conner playing a pivotal role. While serving drinks in the Cool Sips establishment, he underscored the importance of teamwork in their lives. “I wouldn’t be able to do it without him,” Leavitt added, appreciating the backing she receives from her family.
As she looks to the future, Leavitt has ambitious plans and aspirations that extend beyond her current role at Cool Sips and her Broadway achievements. “I love film, I love television, but I also love being a part of businesses and brands like this,” she shared, hinting at a desire to continue exploring opportunities that allow her to contribute creatively.
When asked if she has a dream role in mind for her future, her husband replied on her behalf, noting that she does have specific aspirations. Leavitt, however, opted to keep her hopes for future projects somewhat ambiguous. “I have many,” she revealed, adding that she is excited about the possibilities ahead in her varied pursuits.
Whitney Leavitt’s journey illustrates her commitment to embracing new opportunities while remaining connected to her roots. Her efforts to introduce dirty soda to a broader audience, coupled with her successful run in high-profile performances, indicate that her passion and creativity will continue to shape her path in the entertainment industry.
