An Ohio man, 41-year-old Kevin Six, has been charged with digital voyeurism involving a minor, after he allegedly attempted to record a 15-year-old boy undressing and showering while on a cruise. This unsettling incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and privacy of minors during holiday travel.

The events unfolded on April 2, when authorities from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office were called to Port Everglades cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials spoke with the minor, who reported discovering a mobile phone hidden in a backpack, which was pointed towards the shower in their stateroom. The boy identified the phone’s owner as Kevin Six, suggesting that they were travelling together and sharing accommodation during the cruise.
According to the affidavit, the young boy had informed Six that he was about to take a shower and asked if he needed to use the restroom beforehand. Six reportedly acknowledged his needs and entered the bathroom. It was at this point that the boy noticed the phone protruding from the bag and, upon further inspection, realised it was recording video of the area where he was about to undress.
Allegedly, the boy viewed the footage recorded on the phone, which appeared to show Six setting up the device in preparation for the recording. Disturbed by what he discovered, the boy recorded evidence of the incident on his own phone before seeking assistance from his grandmother, who advised him to report the matter to cruise security.
Subsequent to the notification, cruise personnel isolated both the boy and Six until their ship docked in Florida. The police report does not specify which cruise line or vessel was involved in this serious incident.
When law enforcement officials, including an FBI agent, met with Six, he reportedly expressed remorse, stating he was “very sorry” and did not understand why the incident occurred. Following the reading of his rights, Six chose not to respond to further questioning. He was subsequently taken into custody on charges of video voyeurism directed at a minor under 16 years of age.
Kevin Six was given bail and released on a £50,000 bond by April 6. As of now, he is no longer listed as an inmate in Broward County, though details regarding his legal representation remain unclear, as no attorney has been recorded in court documents on his behalf.
The FBI’s Miami office has chosen not to comment further on the case, directing inquiries to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. However, the Sheriff’s Office has not provided additional details regarding the incident or the ongoing investigation.
