However, that changed when her youngest son laid eyes on an adult cat named Buzz Lightyear. “This time was different,” the 29-year-old influencer recalls. “He was just in awe. I had never seen him be so gentle and nurturing before.”
After their initial visit, the family discussed adopting a pet. The excitement was palpable, with her son eagerly talking about Buzz. However, when the family returned the following day to adopt him, they were met with disappointment; another family had already taken Buzz home. “They were literally in the store buying his supplies while we were there,” Pavlyuk explained. “It was such a bittersweet moment.”

In the weeks that followed, they continued frequenting the pet store, searching for another cat, but no other feline sparked the same connection as Buzz initially had.
Fortunately, one day, they encountered another orange tabby that seemed just right for their family. “We brought the boys to meet him and see how they’d all get along,” Pavlyuk shared. “Right away, he was so curious and interested in them. He didn’t hide; instead, he walked right up to them. That’s when we knew it felt right.”
Before long, the family was loading their new addition into the car. This time, they named him Buzz Lightyear, in homage to the original cat that had captured her son’s heart. Since adopting the new pet, Pavlyuk describes the experience as “so fun.” She observes a touching bond between her son and the cat, noting that every time they leave for an outing, he bids farewell to “Buzzie Wuzzie” with heartfelt hugs.
