At 68, the actor is facing four felony charges relating to criminal sexual contact with minors, for which he has pleaded not guilty. As the allegations come to light, Gilbert’s defence has been immediate and fervent.
According to a representative, Gilbert felt compelled to clarify the facts surrounding the case, which she believes have been obscured by misinformation and sensationalism. In her conversation with Stephanopoulos, Gilbert described the ordeal as “hell” and noted it has been “the most traumatizing experience” they have ever encountered.
Reflecting on the impact of the allegations, Gilbert revealed, “Our life as we knew it is done.
