Three women were arrested at Miami International Airport on Sunday night after a dispute with a Frontier Airlines employee regarding extra luggage fees escalated significantly. The incident, which occurred on 29 March, resulted in charges of resisting an officer, trespassing, and battery against one of the women.

The women involved have been identified as Nafisa Dockery, 30, Davana Cochran, 26, and Dionjana Cochran, 21. According to reports obtained from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the situation unfolded shortly before the scheduled departure of their flight F9-1204 to Philadelphia.
As the group began their check-in process, they were informed by a Frontier employee that they had only paid for one carry-on bag, despite having two with them. This led to a verbal confrontation, during which the employee instructed them to step out of line to rectify the situation and pay for the excess baggage. The women reportedly reacted defiantly, with Nafisa allegedly instructing her companions to ignore the employee’s warnings.

Despite being cautioned that they would be removed from the flight, the three women proceeded to board the aircraft, accessing a restricted area clearly marked for authorised personnel only. Their actions drew the attention of airport security, and deputies were summoned to address the escalating situation.
Upon arrival, the deputies were informed that the women’s boarding passes were invalid and an order for their removal from the plane was issued by the Frontier manager. However, the women refused to comply, leading to a significant disruption on board. As a result, all other passengers were asked to disembark to allow law enforcement to handle the incident safely.
A confrontation ensued during the removal process, as the women reportedly resisted arrest by tensing their bodies and pulling away from officers. The arrest records indicate a brief struggle took place before they were eventually detained. Witnesses reported that while being escorted off the plane, Nafisa allegedly spat on a Frontier employee.
An incident captured in a now widely circulated video depicted the chaos as deputies escorted the women away from the aircraft. One of the women could be heard shouting threats to bystanders as other onlookers recorded the unfolding drama, further heightening the tense atmosphere.
Due to the incident, the flight was delayed for over an hour, causing further inconvenience for other passengers who were waiting to depart for Philadelphia.
Following their arrest, the trio was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. They are facing multiple charges: both Davana and Dionjana have been charged with resisting an officer without violence and trespassing after warning. Nafisa Dockery has additional charges of battery related to the incident.
As of now, representatives from both Miami International Airport and Frontier Airlines have not responded to requests for further information regarding the incident, drawing widespread attention from the public and media alike.
This incident reinforces the importance of adhering to airline policies and the potential consequences of ignoring flight regulations, particularly regarding baggage allowances. The legal proceedings surrounding the women’s arrests are expected to evolve in the coming days, and more details may emerge as the situation develops.
