Schilling described this moment as life-altering, stating, “The cancer had metastasized and my world changed again in an instant.” Over the past two years, she had undergone 16 rounds of chemotherapy while continuing her work on the show.
Despite her challenges, Schilling was informed that she qualified for a pioneering clinical trial tailored to her specific genetic type, which was set to commence this month. Tragically, her condition worsened over the Christmas period, as she began experiencing severe headaches and numbness on her right side. Medical examinations later revealed that the cancer had advanced to the left side of her brain.
