Tyler Cameron is embracing a fresh chapter in his life as he takes part in HGTV’s latest series, “Bachelor Mansion Takeover.” The show, which features various alumni from the Bachelor franchise renovating the iconic California mansion, plays a significant role in Cameron’s journey towards moving on from his past relationship that unfolded during Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette.”

In an interview with PEOPLE, Cameron expressed his enthusiasm for the renovations, highlighting their symbolic nature. As he gears up for the series, which airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, Cameron explained that the project represents not only physical changes to the mansion but also a personal transformation. He jokingly noted that with so much needing repair, “you didn’t even need to make a checklist [of what to fix],” suggesting that nearly every aspect of the house required attention.
Co-judging the renovations with Cameron is Tayshia Adams, who also has her own connections to the property. Adams, who was a contestant on season 23 of “The Bachelor” and later the lead for season 16 of “The Bachelorette,” expressed her excitement about the opportunity to give the mansion a facelift. “It was an exciting time,” the 35-year-old remarked, acknowledging the mansion’s iconic status and the significance of their efforts to revitalise its surroundings.
Reflecting on her own experiences within the mansion, Adams shared a sense of nostalgia. “I feel like that room in itself has so much tension and it’s just so stressful,” she commented on the infamous Rose Room, which holds a special place in Bachelor lore. “Now it feels super comfortable and very homey. So hopefully, that eases people’s tension next time.”
For Cameron, revisiting the mansion holds deeper emotional connotations. Having first stepped foot in the house seven years ago, his memories are tied to his time on reality television, where he was the runner-up on Brown’s season. The renovations present an opportunity for him to metaphorically “bury” those past challenges, allowing him to embrace a new perspective. He remarked, “It’s over. New perspective,” emphasising his readiness to move on.
He also expressed a sense of hope for the future, noting that he believes the renovations will pave the way for new and meaningful relationships to emerge from the mansion. “There’s going to be great relationships to come out of this house now, and we can say we have a small little piece of that,” he added, underscoring the positive changes anticipated from the project.
Cameron’s background in home improvement adds another layer of authenticity to his role in the show. He operates a construction company called Image One Construction based in Jupiter, Florida, which was highlighted in his previous series, “Going Home with Tyler Cameron.” This venture not only involved renovating homes but also included restoring his late mother’s house, showcasing his dedication to both construction and personal milestones.
In addition to his construction expertise, Cameron has also ventured into real estate, recently joining the brokerage firm SERHANT, founded by Ryan Serhant. His career moves exemplify a commitment to personal and professional growth, as he explores new avenues within the home improvement and real estate sectors.
Meanwhile, Tayshia Adams, too, has expressed a clear passion for design. She previously shared aspects of her own New York City apartment with PEOPLE, showcasing how she created an aesthetically pleasing and modern environment. “My style is very clean, sophisticated, but I like a little bit of edge to it,” she commented, highlighting her keen eye for design.
As the renovations at the Bachelor mansion unfold, both Cameron and Adams are poised to play pivotal roles in shaping its future while reflecting on their journeys. With new episodes available for viewing on Monday nights and subsequently on HBO Max, fans of the franchise can look forward to both stylish transformations and explorations of personal growth from these familiar faces in Bachelor Nation.
