Starbucks is set to enhance its beverage lineup with the launch of two new protein-infused bottled coffees. Due to hit grocery store shelves on March 23, these drinks represent a new grab-and-go option for health-conscious consumers seeking their caffeine fix along with a protein boost. The offerings, named Classic Caffé and Caffé Mocha Starbucks Coffee & Protein, are priced at £4 per bottle.
Each of these bottled drinks packs a punch, containing 22 grams of protein, alongside 5 grams of prebiotics and only 2 grams of sugar. This new offering aims to cater to the growing demand for convenient, nutritious products that fit into busy lifestyles, allowing customers to combine their coffee habit with dietary needs.

In addition to the protein beverages, Starbucks will also introduce three other ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee varieties on the same date. These include the Starbucks Iced Espresso Lite in Vanilla Latte and Caramel Macchiato flavours, the Starbucks Doubleshot Energy Zero Sugar in French Vanilla and Dark Chocolate, and the Starbucks Frappuccino Lite Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato.
Starbucks’ venture into protein-enhanced beverages is not entirely new, having previously launched a range of protein lattes and protein matchas on September 29. These products are crafted with a specially formulated Protein-Boosted Milk, which combines 2% milk with premium whey protein. These beverages are prepared fresh by baristas, ensuring quality and taste remain at the forefront.
The coffee giant is also notably tapping into the health and wellness trend, appealing to a market that increasingly values nutritional content in their snack and beverage choices. As health-conscious consumers become more discerning, Starbucks aims to provide them with options that not only taste good but also support their dietary goals.
Meanwhile, Johnsonville has announced its own innovative move in the food market, launching two new sausage products inspired by the flavours of Dr Pepper. This fresh creation draws on the beverage brand’s well-known blend of 23 flavours, resulting in a sausage with a unique ‘sweet and salty’ finish dubbed ‘swalty’. Both fully cooked and uncooked versions of the Johnsonville Dr Pepper Inspired Sausage are set to become available from March 1 at various retailers, including Walmart and Kroger.
The launch from Starbucks and Johnsonville reflects a broader trend in the food and beverage industry towards combining convenience and health. As busy lifestyles have become the norm, consumers increasingly favour products that offer quick solutions without compromising on nutritional value or taste.
With the rollout of these products, consumers will have more options than ever to satisfy both their caffeinated cravings and nutritional needs. As the beverage and food landscape continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how such innovations are received by a public that is increasingly focused on maintaining health alongside their everyday indulgences.
Starbucks’ commitment to provide quality and nutritious offerings aligns with current consumer preferences, positioning the brand for continued success in a competitive marketplace. With the March launches just around the corner, coffee lovers and health enthusiasts alike can look forward to trying out these new options.
