Johnny Knoxville has officially announced that the forthcoming film Jackass 5, set for release on 26th June, will mark the end of the beloved franchise. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the actor and co-creator expressed his sentiment that this film is the fitting conclusion to a series that has become a significant part of popular culture.

Knoxville, who is now 54 years old, described Jackass 5 as “the last one,” noting, “This is the natural place to end.” He maintained a humorous tone throughout the conversation, quipping, “So it’s going to be absolutely awful.” With characteristic irreverence, he added that the film “never was a good idea! It was just fun. You know how you have ideas that are terrible but are fun? This would be that.”
The announcement of Jackass 5 was made earlier this year, with Knoxville sharing a teaser on Instagram that included not only his photo but also the franchise’s logo alongside the release date. In typical Knoxville fashion, when questioned about his favourite animals to feature in outrageous stunts, he mentioned bulls. These animals, known for their unpredictable nature, contributed significantly to Knoxville’s own injuries on set, including brain damage incurred during the filming of Jackass Forever. “They absolutely hate you, and you’re going to get footage guaranteed,” he explained. “And I don’t have to do anything. All I have to do is stand in one spot and [then] move.”
As the curtain falls on Jackass, Knoxville reflects on his future beyond the series. “Same thing I do day-to-day,” he shared. This includes spending quality time with his family, playing with the family dog, and taking time to work on various projects. He recently married costume designer Emily Ting and has three children from his previous marriages, a daughter named Madison with his first wife Melanie Lynn Clapp, and son Rocko and daughter Arlo with his second wife, Naomi Nelson.
In addition to wrapping up the Jackass series, Knoxville is busy working on other projects. He currently hosts the Fox reality show, Fear Factor: House of Fear, which premiered earlier this year.
