Eight members of a high school running team have reportedly been injured after a car crashed into a sidewalk in Anaheim., California. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the suspected DUI driver hit the teenagers near the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and North Street at around 3:00 p.m. local time.
The Toyota Corolla had reportedly been travelling south on Harbor when it crashed into the eight members of the Anaheim High School track and field team as they waited at a traffic light during a training run. Sgt. Matt Sutter of the Anaheim PD mentioned, “They were doing what they were supposed to do, wait, and they got hit by the car.”
A 27-year-old man is being investigated for an alleged DUI, but no arrests have been made so far. Authorities have not released any further information, but investigations are ongoing.
