Following the attack, three children and one adult were immediately taken to hospitals in Vancouver for urgent medical attention. As per the Provincial Health Services Authority, all four individuals are still hospitalised, and their families have requested privacy regarding their conditions. In addition to the injured, seven others received medical treatment at the scene. Authorities have yet to locate the bear, although suspicions point towards the animal having sustained prior injuries that may have triggered the violent behaviour.
The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) revealed that additional conservation officers were deployed to investigate the incident the day after the attack.
