Owens Jr., a junior defensive lineman at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, was involved in a fatal accident when his vehicle collided with a truck on a highway in Chilton County on Monday, Nov. 10.

Owens Jr. and the other driver, occurred at around 5:35 a.m. Authorities reported that James’ 2019 Chevrolet Camaro collided head-on with a 2016 Toyota Tundra driven by Justin E. Carlee, 42, on U.S. 82, about two miles west of Maplesville.
