Chloe Kim is widely known for her exceptional talent on the snowboarding slopes, but she also thrives in maintaining her competitive edge off the snow. During a conversation at a special Mario Kart World event, Kim expressed her passion for video games, a hobby she picked up shortly after falling in love with snowboarding. She humorously mentioned, “Luckily, all of my friends are nerds, so we all love playing video games together.”
The 25-year-old athlete reflected on her close ones who share her gaming enthusiasm, noting, “But yeah, my best friend, Austin… he definitely is the most competitive person, I think. I’m a winter athlete, so I can just kind of chill during the summers.” Kim highlighted the portability of her Nintendo Switch 2, which allows her to enjoy her favourite games on the go, mentioning her older sisters’ influence in introducing her to gaming.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Winter Olympics, the snowboarding sensation plans to maintain her competitive spirit through both physical training and gaming sessions. Indicating her down-to-earth attitude towards both training and gaming, Kim articulated, “Training for me right now is going to stay the same. I try not to change too much.
