Carnival Cruise Line’s brand ambassador, John Heald, has recently given cruise enthusiasts a sneak peek into the post-cruise activities concerning lost and found items on the Carnival Conquest ship. Heald provided a behind-the-scenes look at the various items left behind by passengers after completing their journey, including sunglasses, phones, children’s toys, clothing, and more. The disposal process for these items involves customs procedures and paperwork before they can be returned to their rightful owners.

Heald, who serves as both brand ambassador and senior cruise director for Carnival Cruise Line, took to Facebook on October 13 to showcase what happens to the lost items. Just two hours after the Carnival Conquest had finished its debarkation process, Heald shared a video displaying a plethora of forgotten items collected in the back office of guest services. Among the items found were sunglasses, jewelry, phones, clothing, shoes, children’s toys, and numerous water bottles left behind by passengers.
In the video, Heald rummaged through a box filled with sunglasses in a cluttered drawer, highlighting the array of valuable possessions found across the ship. He emphasized that the process of returning these items to guests can be time-consuming due to customs requirements and necessary paperwork. He explained that all items need to be processed and catalogued diligently before being sent back to Miami and then returned to their owners on the next cruise.
Last October, Heald also shared insights into the subsequent stage after items are recovered and sent back to the guest services desk. He revealed that it takes about a week for the items to clear customs and be stored in green bags for safekeeping. These green bags contain a variety of items, including designer purses, electronics like iPads and phones, jewelry, and other miscellaneous belongings left behind by passengers.
Upon gathering the lost items, Heald noted that they are sorted, packed, and swiftly returned to their respective owners as efficiently as possible. Addressing cruisers who may have inquiries regarding their lost items, Heald praised the hardworking team behind the scenes for their dedication in managing and returning the forgotten possessions. He emphasized the significant effort put in by the staff to reunite passengers with their belongings.
In showcasing the meticulous process of handling lost and found items on the Carnival Conquest, Heald aimed to reassure passengers that their possessions are in safe hands and will be returned to them in due course. By shedding light on the behind-the-scenes operations, Heald provided a transparent and reassuring insight into the cruise ship’s lost and found section, ensuring passengers’ peace of mind regarding their misplaced belongings.
