Uoma Beauty Founder’s Cause of Death Revealed

The beauty community was left in shock after the tragic passing of Uoma Beauty founder, Sharon Chuter. Chuter, who was a visionary entrepreneur in the beauty industry, died at the young age of 38 on August 14. However, it was only recently that the cause of her untimely death was revealed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to a report from the medical examiner’s office, Chuter passed away due to blunt traumatic injuries. The circumstances surrounding her death were deemed accidental. Additionally, the report highlighted that Chuter was also dealing with medication non-compliant Schizoaffective Disorder at the time.
Chuter had made a significant impact in the beauty world with her brand Uoma Beauty, which she launched in 2019. The brand was known for its inclusivity, offering over 100 beauty products that catered to people of all skin tones. Before her venture into entrepreneurship, Chuter had worked with prestigious companies like L’Oréal and LVMH.
Not only was Chuter a successful businesswoman, but she was also a trailblazer for diversity and inclusion in the beauty industry. In 2020, she launched the Pull Up for Change initiative, which called on companies to disclose the percentage of Black employees in corporate and leadership positions within 72 hours. The campaign aimed to shed light on the lack of economic opportunities for the Black community, particularly in the beauty sector.
