John Stamos, widely recognised for his role in the classic sitcom *Full House*, has opened up about an unexpected aspect of his daily life that has become a quirky bonding ritual with his young son, Billy. The actor discussed his personal maintenance routine and his experiences as a father during a recent interview with *PEOPLE*, while promoting his partnership with Pantene.
Stamos, who has always been admired for his charm and good looks, disclosed that maintaining his appearance does not require extensive effort. However, one surprising and rather unglamorous task features prominently in his nightly routine. His eight-year-old son has adopted a new hobby that involves a rather peculiar activity — pulling out his father’s nose hairs.

“Every night when I tuck him in, he has made it his pastime to pull out my nose hairs,” Stamos said, laughing. He recounted how the light-hearted exchange takes place after their bedtime ritual, which can involve reading a story or saying a prayer. “He says, ‘Dad, you have beautiful hair.’ To which I reply, ‘Thank you, son.’ Then he asks, ‘How is it that you can grow it in your nose like that?’”
Despite the slightly embarrassing nature of the act, Stamos embraces the humour and silliness of the moment. “Billy finds it so funny,” he explained. “I’ll just be lying there and he’ll give one a tug. And then my wife, Caitlin, would chime in, ‘Well, you don’t want them there, do you?’” Stamos added that being Greek, he cannot escape some of the genetic traits that may lead to such hair growth.
Family life seems to bring Stamos immense joy. He shared that his favourite part about being a father is watching his son develop into a compassionate and humorous individual. “I love joking with him. He loves to cuddle. He’s still at that age where he just wants to cuddle with Mum and Dad, and that’s really cute,” he reflected warmly.
Stamos recounted a heartwarming incident from a few years ago that highlighted his son’s kindness. After picking Billy up from school, the actor noticed his son engaging in heartfelt exchanges with his classmates as they expressed affection towards one another with numerous “I love yous.” This behaviour was not only delightful to witness, but he discovered that the trend was actually started by Billy himself, according to his teacher.
“It’s those little moments that reassure you as a parent,” Stamos remarked. “You think, ‘It’s going to be okay.’”
As a new ambassador for Pantene, Stamos included details about his basic grooming routine, which focuses on simplicity. The actor uses the brand’s Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner, both of which are enriched with antioxidants and pro-vitamin B5 to keep hair hydrated and healthy for prolonged periods.
“I wash my hair with Pantene, put some mud in it, and that’s pretty much it,” Stamos stated, downplaying his regimen. “I don’t do a lot, you know? I’m blessed with good hair.” He also mentioned that from time to time, he treats himself to Pantene’s Miracle Rescue Deep Repair Conditioner for an added layer of care and nourishment.
Stamos emphasised the importance of using quality products for hair care, explaining that not all products are created equal. “You can’t just put anything in your hair, no matter how good the marketing is,” he advised.
In reflecting on both his parenting journey and personal grooming routine, John Stamos represents a balance of Hollywood charm and relatable family life. His candid revelations about the less-than-glamorous aspects of fatherhood reveal a tender side to the star that resonates with many, showcasing not only his charisma but also his commitment to family values.
