Fox News Announces New Political Program featuring Jacqui Heinrich and Peter Doocy

Fox News is making changes to its weekend lineup with the introduction of new programs featuring senior White House correspondents Jacqui Heinrich and Peter Doocy, along with Kayleigh McEnany and other prominent figures. The network’s new weekend schedule will include a morning show titled “The Sunday Briefing,” where Heinrich and Doocy will alternate as hosts. This program will delve into various aspects of the White House beat, covering national and international developments as well as key issues affecting the administration. The Sunday Briefing is set to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time, taking the slot previously occupied by MediaBuzz with Howie Kurtz.
In response to these changes, Howie Kurtz will transition to a new role as a political media analyst at Fox News. Kurtz expressed pride in his former program’s success and loyal audience, highlighting its balanced approach to contrasting viewpoints and addressing sensitive subjects. Apart from Heinrich and Doocy’s show, Kayleigh McEnany, the former White House press secretary, will host a new program titled “Saturday in America,” airing from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on Saturdays. This show will offer an extensive examination of current headlines through discussions with politicians and newsmakers. Additionally, national correspondent Griff Jenkins will join Rachel Campos-Duffy and Charlie Hurt as a third co-host on the popular show Fox & Friends, which broadcasts on weekends from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.
The Big Weekend Show will also undergo changes, expanding to a three-hour format and running from 5 to 8 p.m. on both Saturdays and Sundays. Johnny Joey Jones and Tomi Lahren will join as two of the four co-hosts on the show’s new panel, with two rotating guests appearing each week. The revamped weekend lineup is set to kick off on Saturday, Sept. 20, offering viewers an array of engaging and informative programs throughout the weekend.
The launch of The Sunday Briefing coincides with exciting personal milestones for both Jacqui Heinrich and Peter Doocy. In July, Heinrich announced her engagement to congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, sharing details of the picturesque proposal in Provence, France. Describing her fiancé as a supportive, faith-driven individual, Heinrich conveyed her joy in finding a life partner who brings light and positivity into her life. On the other hand, Peter Doocy and his wife, fellow Fox News correspondent Hillary Vaughn, welcomed their second child, son George Jack Doocy, in April.
