David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are marking 26 years of wedded bliss as they celebrate their enduring marriage. The couple exchanged vows in a lavish wedding ceremony held at Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin, Ireland, on July 4, 1999. Over the years, their union has been blessed with four children – sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper. Despite the passage of time, the Beckhams have managed to keep the details of their special day relatively private, with only a few select images released to the public.

David Beckham revealed in a 2017 interview on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that the couple have since renewed their vows, with only a small group of about six people in attendance. Despite the intimate nature of the renewal ceremony, the love and dedication between David and Victoria have remained steadfast. David shared on a podcast in May 2024 that the key to their lasting marriage lies in supporting each other through all the highs and lows that life brings.

As the Beckhams reflect on their 26 years of togetherness, the memories of their 1999 wedding resurface. The couple’s choice of Luttrellstown Castle for their nuptials added to the fairy-tale setting, with the majestic venue reportedly costing $800,000. The castle, nestled in a sprawling 560-acre estate, provided the perfect backdrop for the romantic affair, attended by a select group of 29 guests who witnessed the exchange of vows between David and Victoria.
Their wedding reception, however, was a more extravagant affair, with around 230 guests joining the celebration. The newlyweds were seated on matching gold thrones as they shared their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s classic “It Had to Be You.” Despite the grandeur of the event, Victoria later clarified that the media had exaggerated the scale of their wedding, emphasizing that it was a more intimate gathering than perceived.
Among the notable attendees were Victoria’s fellow Spice Girls – Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Chisholm – along with David’s Manchester United teammates, adding a touch of stardom to the guest list. The absence of a planned performance by Elton John, due to health reasons, did not dampen the joyous occasion filled with love and laughter.
Victoria Beckham looked resplendent on her special day in a Vera Wang silk pleated ballgown, complemented by an exquisite 18-karat gold tiara adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds. The groom, David Beckham, stood out in a coordinated purple ensemble along with their son, Brooklyn, who served as the ring bearer. Even the reception saw the couple donning matching purple outfits, adding a whimsical touch to the festivities.
The wedding cake, an artistic creation by Damien Hirst, featured layers of apples and chocolate cake adorned with greenery and gold leaf. The cake bore the inscription “Victoria & David” in diamonds and was topped with a unique nearly-nude sculpture of the couple. As the Beckhams continue to cherish their journey together, these glimpses of their 1999 wedding serve as a reminder of their enduring love story that has stood the test of time.
