In a recent interview, Curtis shared that she purchased the Wyoming property impulsively during a chaotic trip to Paris in July 2022. After facing a setback in her life, the HGTV star decided to tick off items from her wish list, leading her to buy the historic house. With Sawtelle’s help, the renovation project began as they both ventured into this new challenge together.

Despite their shared history, Curtis clarified that their collaboration is purely professional. She emphasised that there is no intention of rekindling their past romance, and both parties are content with the direction their lives have taken since their separation, solidifying their decision to go their separate ways as the right choice.
Their relationship first blossomed in 2018, with Curtis expressing happiness at having Sawtelle by her side, providing a sense of calm she had not experienced before. While the pair encountered challenges and differences in their relationship, Curtis acknowledged the importance of focusing on the positives and working through any obstacles for personal growth.
Curtis, a mother of two sons, has been through a public custody battle over her younger child, Harper, with her ex, Shane Maguire. Throughout the legal proceedings, Curtis remained resolute in keeping her family out of the public eye, prioritising her children’s well-being and her passion for restoring homes. She expressed her dedication to maintaining a balance between her personal and professional life, highlighting the importance of privacy in the midst of public scrutiny.
As Curtis returns to HGTV after a three-year hiatus, she remains tight-lipped about her current relationship status, opting to keep her personal life private. Her focus on her family and her passion for home restoration has been unwavering despite facing challenges and setbacks in her personal life. Curtis continues to advocate for causes close to her heart, inspiring others with her resilience and dedication to her craft.
The season premiere of Rehab Addict featuring Curtis and Sawtelle airs on June 24th on HGTV, offering viewers a glimpse into their collaborative renovation project. As Curtis navigates both her personal and professional life, her story serves as a testament to perseverance and determination in the face of adversity.
