Mattel is gearing up to showcase their latest creations at the highly anticipated San Diego Comic-Con 2025, with one of the star attractions being a remarkably lifelike John Cena action figure. The event is scheduled to take place from July 24 to July 27 in San Diego, California.
In an exciting announcement made on June 25, Mattel revealed that they will be introducing four new main characters to their lineup of collector toys. Among the featured collectibles are the irreverent Little People Collector Deadpool, the villainous mashup Masters of the Universe Turtles of Grayskull Skele-Shredder, the formidable T. Rex from Jurassic World, and the Ultimate Edition “The Champ Is Here” John Cena action figure.
Nick Karamanos, the senior vice president of Mattel Creations & Entertainment Partnerships, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming releases, stating, “From the chaos of Deadpool to the epic crossover of Skele-Shredder to the infamous Jurassic World T. rex and the undeniable legacy of John Cena, each collectible is designed to deliver that main character moment — and bring a little extra thrill to fans’ shelves.”
For wrestling enthusiasts, the John Cena action figure pays tribute to his remarkable achievement of 17 World Heavyweight Championship reigns, complete with era-specific accessories and meticulous detailing. The figure is set to be a must-have for WWE fans looking to add a piece of wrestling history to their collection.
In a unique twist, the Deadpool toy will transport Ryan Reynolds’ iconic character into a taco-fueled farm universe, packaged in a whimsical rainbow-shaped box that captures the essence of the Merc with a Mouth’s zany personality. Meanwhile, the Skele-Shredder Deluxe Figure combines elements of Skeletor from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe with Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, boasting interchangeable heads, dynamic weapons, and a meticulously crafted throne.
Fans of the Jurassic Park franchise will also have something to look forward to, as the iconic “Buck” T. Rex from The Lost World: Jurassic Park will make its debut in a premium collector’s set, featuring unique SDCC touches and bonus content that encapsulate a fan-favorite moment from the Steven Spielberg sequel.
Attendees of Comic-Con can get a first-hand look at these exciting releases by visiting Mattel’s booth (#3029) at the San Diego Convention Center. The products will also be available for purchase at the Mattel merchandise booth (#2945) and online at MattelCreations.com.
