Entertainment enthusiasts and thrill-seekers, mark your calendars for an exhilarating experience coming to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026. Universal Studios recently offered a sneak peek at their upcoming Fast & Furious-themed roller coaster, the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. This new ride is said to be the park’s fastest and its first-ever outdoor roller coaster.

The amusement park, located in Southern California, shared the exciting news on June 12, accompanied by a video showcasing what visitors can expect from the ride. The attraction is inspired by the popular Fast & Furious franchise, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience for guests of all ages.

One of the highlights of the announcement was a glimpse of the ride’s star vehicle, Dominic Toretto’s iconic Dodge Charger. Park attendees will even have the chance to admire the vehicle up close before the ride officially opens, during the display period from June 13 to August 10, 2025.
The video revealed a series of action-packed clips from the Fast & Furious films, featuring high-speed chases and intense moments that fans of the franchise will surely appreciate. Additionally, the renderings provided a preview of the ride vehicles in action, showcasing impressive drift moves and thrilling twists along the track, including exhilarating upside-down sections.
“With a groundbreaking 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as they rocket along an elaborate track, this is a roller coaster like no other,” emphasised Universal Studios Hollywood in their announcement. The innovative design and technology of the ride aim to deliver a unique and immersive experience for visitors.
According to reports, the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster will set new speed records at Universal Studios parks, boasting a maximum speed of 72 mph. The ride will stretch across 4,100 feet of track and kick off near The Wizarding World of Harry Potter entrance, promising a heart-racing journey from start to finish.
Scott Strobl, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Universal Studios Hollywood, expressed his excitement for the upcoming addition, describing it as a “powerful game-changer” that will redefine the park’s landscape and offer a heightened level of excitement to guests.
