Carlo Acutis, a prominent figure known as “God’s influencer” and set to become the first millennial saint in the Catholic Church, is scheduled to be canonized this fall. The announcement was made by Pope Leo XIV on June 13, marking a significant moment in religious history.
Acutis, who tragically passed away at the age of 15 in 2006 after battling leukemia, was known for his deep faith and technological prowess. Born on May 3, 1991, the British teen made a lasting impact on the Catholic community by using his web design skills to educate others about Eucharistic miracles.

Initially slated for canonization on April 27, the ceremony was postponed following the untimely death of Pope Francis. However, it was later revealed that Pope Francis had approved Acutis for sainthood after attributing a second miracle to him in July 2024.
The first miracle, documented in 2020, is said to have involved the healing of a Brazilian boy after prayers were offered in Acutis’ name. This led to Pope Francis bestowing the title of “Blessed” upon Acutis, a significant step towards his upcoming canonization.
In a heartwarming account, it is reported that Acutis is believed to have healed a college-aged student named Valeria in July 2022. Valeria had sustained severe injuries from a bicycle accident, and her remarkable recovery following prayers to Acutis further solidified his path to sainthood.
To be considered for sainthood, two miracles must be attributed to a candidate, a requirement that Acutis has fulfilled with these documented instances of divine intervention. The late teen will join Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, another young saint-to-be from a century earlier, in the upcoming canonization ceremony.
With Pope Leo XIV leading the charge, the event is set to take place on Sept. 7, 2025, at the Vatican. Acutis’ legacy as a millennial saint serves as an inspiration to the global Catholic community, highlighting the enduring impact of faith and service.
As preparations are underway for this historic occasion, the anticipation and reverence surrounding Carlo Acutis’ canonization continue to grow. His story resonates with believers and non-believers alike, transcending generational boundaries and reaffirming the enduring power of spirituality.
In a world faced with uncertainty and challenges, the example set by Acutis offers a beacon of hope and a reminder of the transformative potential of a steadfast faith. The canonization of the first millennial saint stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of individuals whose lives are marked by devotion, compassion, and unwavering belief.
The upcoming canonization ceremony not only honours Carlo Acutis’ remarkable life and contributions but also serves as a moment of reflection and celebration for the entire Catholic community. As the date approaches, the significance of this event reverberates across the globe, uniting believers in reverence and gratitude for the profound impact of a young soul known as “God’s influencer” on the world.
