Police in London are intensifying efforts to search for the parents of three newborn babies who were abandoned in the city. The infants, named Elsa, Harry, and Roman, were found in various locations between 2017 and 2025. DNA tests have confirmed that they share the same parents, and authorities are determined to locate them.
The search for the parents has now led to police officers going door-to-door at approximately 400 homes in East London, near where two of the babies were discovered. The Metropolitan Police have also been requesting residents to provide DNA samples to assist in identifying any potential relations to the infants. Additionally, individuals are being contacted through the national DNA database for further leads.

Baby Elsa was first found in a shopping bag in Newham in January 2025, with subsequent investigations revealing her connection to two other abandoned newborns from previous years. Despite extensive appeals for information, the babies remain unidentified. The authorities have been utilizing various investigative techniques, including analysing CCTV footage and offering a £20,000 reward in hopes of solving the case.
Detective Inspector Jamie Humm expressed concerns about the wellbeing of the babies’ mother, suggesting that she might be vulnerable and unable to come forward due to various reasons, potentially including mental health issues. Humm emphasised the importance of public assistance in potentially locating a fourth baby, noting the critical need for timely intervention to prevent any further tragic outcomes for abandoned infants.
Efforts to locate the parents of the abandoned infants have garnered significant attention, with the Metropolitan Police actively engaging the public through social media and news outlets. Messages urging the community to provide any relevant information have been shared widely, underscoring the collaborative approach required to solve this compelling mystery.
In response to the ongoing investigation, authorities are committed to supporting the babies’ mother as a victim in this case, ensuring that she receives the necessary assistance and care. The compassionate approach taken by law enforcement reflects a broader effort to address the underlying circumstances that may have led to the infants’ abandonment, fostering understanding and empathy in the community.
As the search for the parents of Elsa, Harry, and Roman continues, the authorities remain optimistic about potential breakthroughs in the case. The public’s cooperation and solidarity are crucial in resolving this challenging situation, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable individuals in society.
In conclusion, the relentless pursuit of justice in locating the parents of the abandoned newborns underscores the commitment of law enforcement and the community to protect the most vulnerable members of society. By working together and supporting those in need, we can strive towards a safer and more compassionate society for all.
